The weather was perfect and the times clocked by the runners at the State Championship Cross Country meets reflected that as records fell left and right all day and six teams successfully defended their 2015 crowns.  On the the girls side, three classification records were broken along with the girls state record and five girls ran times that were in the all-time top ten.  The boys races yielded two new classification records and three new all-time top ten times.  A new addition to this year's meets was the selection of a Sportsmanship Award winner in each classification based on sportsmanship throughout the season.  Congratulations to Digital Harbor HS (4A), Reservoir HS (3A), Catoctin HS (2A), and Snow Hill HS (1A) for a job well done!  Click on the links below to view a summary of the State Meet results along with complete results by classification and gender.

There are many people behind the scenes for an event of this magnitude to be successfully held.  First, the MPSSAA is deeply indebted to the Hereford HS staff and community for their support and use of their facilities. A special thank you to Athletic Director Mike Kalisz and his Athletic Department staff whose cooperation and effort are second to none.  Another big thank you goes to Committee Director Michael Sye and the other members of the State Cross Country Committee for their contributions throughout the season organizing the region meets, planning the state meet, and working the plan to perfection at the finals.  Rest up and be ready to run those hills again next fall!
