NEW NFHS Exam Format as of 8/1/2022:
The NFHS exam system has reduced its exam question from 100 questions to 50 questions. Officials are required to score a 75% or better on the exam to officiate MPSSAA games. Total correct answers to achieve the 75% threshold is 38 correct out of 50 questions.
Officials will need to sign into their Dragonfly account, go to their MPSSAA requirements and click on the exam requirement (see below). This will take you directly to the NFHS exam system.

Highest exam score will automatically be downloaded to your profile after you have submitted your test.
The positives of the accessing the NFHS Exam system using Dragonfly:
- A direct link to your exam site, no need for any additional login
- Test scores are automatically downloaded to your exam profile
- You may return to the NFHS exam site through Dragonfly
- Dragonfly will populate you highest exam score.
Officials who have not set up an account with Dragonfly must do so in order to take the NFHS Exam. This simple setup process takes about two minutes and provides the NFHS and MPSSAA all the necessary information for the collection of results. Please see the instructions to set up an account with DragonFly here, https://www.dragonflymax.com/s/MPSSAA-Contest-Officials.pdf
In order to work interscholastic contests, including regional playoff contests, and earn certification, each official will have a maximum of five attempts to achieve a passing score of 75 percent (38 correct out of 50). An 85 percent (43 out of 50) minimum score is required for a post-season state tournament assignment. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Ken Kazmarek, Coordinator of Officials at 410-767-0375 or call the MPSSAA office directly at 410-767-0555.
