2024 Dual Wrestling State Championships Results

Dual wrestling region champions converged at North Point High School on Saturday, February 10th to compete for the dual wrestling state title.  Many were the usual suspects with Stephen Decatur, Linganore, South Carroll, and South River looking to win consecutive championships.  In particular, Decatur was looking to make it five in a row, while South Carroll and South River were hoping for a 3-Peat. 

The day started with 16 teams, but by the end, four champions were left to hoist the trophies.  Congratulations to all teams who made it to the final day!

 

Class 1A

South Carroll beat Henry E. Lackey 56-18

Middletown beat Harford Technical 56-24

FINAL:  SOUTH CARROLL over Middletown 40-30

* This is South Carroll’s third title in a row.

 

Class 2A

Stephen Decatur beat Huntingtown 51-15

Damascus beat C. Milton Wright 39-27

FINAL:  STEPHEN DECATUR over Damascus 50-22

* With this win, Stephen Decatur won their fifth consecutive championship and sixth overall.

 

Class 3A

Linganore beat Bel Air 58-15

South River beat Marriotts Ridge 64-9

FINAL:  LINGANORE over South River 34-31

* Linganore wins back-to-back championships.

 

Class 4A

Walt Whitman beat Springbrook 36-33

Broadneck beat Bethesda-Chevy Chase 34-33

FINAL:  WALT WHITMAN over Broadneck 33-31

* This is Walt Whitman’s second championship, with the first one being in 2005.
