Thomas Johnson HS blistered the Boys 4A competition with 127 points and defended their title over North Point HS who had 55.5 points.  Carver Vocational-Technical HS outdistanced Williamsport HS 114-66 for the Boys 1A championship while in the Boys 3A classification, Reservoir claimed the top spot over Potomac 75.5-48.  In the closest battle of the meet, Oakland Mills HS edged Walkersville HS for the Boys 2A crown 68-66.

On the girls side, Western of Baltimore City maintained their hold on the Girls 3A championship trophy by topping Northwood, 66-51. In the Girls 1A classification, Smithsburg HS prevailed over Harford Technical HS in the tightest duel between girls teams by a score of 73-69. North Hagerstown HS topped Digital Harbor 83.5-67 for the top spot among all of Girls 2A schools while Charles H. Flowers HS accumulated 81 points to Northwood HS's 71 for the Girls 4A championship.

It goes without saying that an event of this magnitude requires the assistance of numerous volunteers and officials to all of whom we are very grateful.  We are equally appreciative of the contributions made by the members of the Boys & Girls State Track and Field Committee to the region as well as the state meets.  We continue to be impressed by the talents of our student-athletes and look forward to seeing what next year will bring.
