Tennis Champs Earn Top Honors

     The 2010 State Tennis Tournament has come to a successful conclusion at the University of Maryland's Cole Field House Tennis Courts.  Continue to read for tournament results or select the links above for complete match by match results.

     In the Boys' Singles championship match, Michael Razumovsky of Pikesville HS prevailed over Dukyoung Park of Montgomery Blair HS in two sets by a score of 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).  The gold medal in Boys' Doubles went to Mateo Cevallos and Alex Hahn of Thomas S. Wootten HS by virtue of their hard fought 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 7-5 win over Pablo Gottret and Aaron Hoffman of Walt Whitman HS. In the Girls' Singles championship match, Katelyn Stokes of Eleanor Roosevelt HS defended her title over Jordan Maisel of Glenelg HS in three sets by a score of 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.  The gold medal in Girls' Doubles went to Nicky Gottret and Sarah Macy of Walt Whitman HS by virtue of their 6-4, 6-4 two set win over Sarah Bernstein and Sarah Andrews of Walter Johnson HS and the Mixed Doubles team of Nathan Huber and Audrey Cheng of River Hill HS were victorious over Justin Tabor and Cari Hopson of Patuxent HS in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 for top honors.

     Our sincere thanks go to the State Tennis Committee for all of their hard work in organizing and running the region and state tournaments. We also appreciate the cooperation and assistance that we receive from the University of Maryland's Campus Recreation Services in holding the state championships at their facility.

     Congratulations to all of our qualifiers and participants.  Keep practicing and working hard to improve your game so that we see you back at the state tournament again next year!
