The Class 4A/3A State Swimming meet was finally held on 3/11 and when the waves in the pool subsided, the Walter Johnson boys and Winston Churchill girls came away with the team crowns.  Walter Johnson's boys posted their third state title by topping Richard Montgomery 272 - 238.  Winston Churchill's girls earned their first state title by scoring 288.5 points to Sherwood's 249.   Don't forget to relive every race on-demand or purchase DVDs on the NFHS Network.  Select the links below for complete State Swimming & Diving Meet results.

In the Class 3A/2A/1A State Meet on Friday, 2/27 at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex, Poolesville HS swept both the Boys' and Girls' team titles.  It was the second state title for the Poolesville Girls and the fourth, all consecutive, for the Boys.

The State Diving Championships went off as scheduled on Friday, 2/20 at Eppley Recreation Center.  Elaina Faerber continued Churchill's dominance of the event on the girls' side by besting 2012 State Champ and teammate Kali Becker, 451.05 - 441.90.  Jack Crow of B-CC successfully defended his 2014 title as he topped Springbrook's Mica Ho, 508.70 - 501.25.

The MPSSAA would like to thank the State Swimming & Diving Committee, led by Director Earl Hawkins, for their hard work and persistence in coordinating all of the region meets, organizing the state meets, and working through several postponements.  Thanks too to all of the region meet hosts and meet directors for their invaluable assistance. And last but not least, our appreciation to the University of Maryland Campus Recreation Services for the use of Eppley Natatorium and the PG Sports and Learning Complex for helping us out big time with make-up dates.  Thanks for the team effort at crunch time!!
