State Baseball Titles Captured By Four Teams

After the dust settled at the State Baseball Tournament, four teams grabbed state championship titles in front of supportive and appreciative crowds enjoying the holiday weekend.  Severna Park needed only 5 innings to claim the Class 4A title while Frederick finished with the Class 3A crown.  The Class 2A champ was River Hill while Bohemia Manor brought home the Class 1A title.

At the conclusion of the tournament, the Sportsmanship Award was presented to Fallston High School.  Congratulations to Fallston for their display of sportsmanship throughout this year's tournament.  Our thanks go to everyone that helped to make this year's tournament a resounding success, including the four state semifinal sites, the Athletic Department at the University of Maryland - College Park for the use of Shipley Field for the 4A finals, and the staff at Ripken Stadium for the use of their beautiful facility for the remaining three finals.  Many State Committee members and other volunteers unselfishly gave their valuable time during the season as well as the tournament to ensure a memorable event for the participants and we greatly appreciate it.  Enjoy your summer and we'll see you next year!
