MPSSAA Announces Scott Witkin as State Swimming Rules Interpreter and Steve Bettinger as State Diving Rules Interpreter

The MPSSAA is proud to announce the appointments of Scott Witkin and Steve Bettinger to the position of State Swimming and Diving Rules Interpreter effective August 2, 2022. Mr. Witkin will assume the responsibilities as the MPSSAA swimming rules interpreter and Mr. Bettinger will assume the MPSSAA diving rules interpreter responsibilities.

State Board Approves MPSSAA COMAR Amendments

The Maryland State Board of Education approved at their July 26, 2022, meeting proposed amendments by the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) to the COMAR 13A.06.03 interscholastic athletic regulations. The approved regulations will take effect on August 22, 2022.

MPSSAA Girls Lacrosse Committee Honors Melba Williams

In celebration of 50 Years of Title IX, the MPSSAA Girls’ Lacrosse Committee would like to honor our state committee director, Ms. Melba Williams. As a Title IX Trailblazer, Ms. Williams organized the first girls’ lacrosse state committee in 1974, with a vision to bring girls lacrosse region and state tournaments to Maryland.
