MPSSAA Postpones Monday, March 16 State Basketball Championship Games to Wednesday, March 18

The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) has postponed Monday’s Class 1A Boys’ Basketball State Championship game and Class 4A Girls’ Basketball State Championship game to Wednesday, March 18th.  The postponement decision resulted from consultations with participating school systems, their announcements of early dismissal and cancellations of after-school activities on Monday, and caution due to impending severe weather forecasts.

The championship game times of 5 p.m. for the Class 1A boys and 7:30 p.m. for the Class 4A girls remain.  The championships will continue to be hosted at Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena on the campus of UMBC.

Wednesday, March 18
Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena – UMBC
Class 1A Boys- No. 2 SEED School vs. No. 4 Cambridge - SD - 5:00 p.m.
Class 4A Girls - No. 1 Walt Whitman vs. No. 2 Richard Montgomery - 7:30 p.m.

All previous ticket purchases for Monday, March 16 will be valid for Wednesday, March 18.
