November 15, 2015 09:00 AM

The 2015 State Field Hockey Finals wrapped up Washington College on Saturday on a crisp fall day...ideal hockey weather!  Select from the links below for complete results from the first playoff game to the last.

Class 2A kicked off the day as Hereford posted their 8th state title.  Bel Air followed by grabbing their first state title in 38 years and 2nd overall in Class 3A.  A state leading 23rd hockey title was hauled in by Severna Park in Class 4A and then the day concluded with Class 1A as Pocomoke attained their 19th state crown.  The tournament sportsmanship award went to the Kent Island Buccaneers recognizing the players, coaches, and fans as the best during the state semis and finals.

Our thanks go out to the State Field Hockey Committee and director Phyllis Hemmes for their hard work and preparation during the state semifinals and finals.  Thanks, too, to Washington College and their Athletic Department staff, especially Field Hockey Coach Rachel Boyle and her team for hosting the finals at their beautiful facility.  We also want to thank both Paint Branch HS and Broadneck HS and their athletic directors and staff members for providing the host sites for our state semifinals.  We wish all a productive off-season and look forward to more fast, fun, fabulous field hockey next fall!!
