Four Teams Grab State Softball Championships

After the dust cleared at the University of Maryland's Robert E. Taylor Stadium, four teams grabbed state softball championship titles, with two polishing off an untarnished undefeated season.  Broadneck went 21-0 to claim the Class 4A title while McDonough finished at 19-0 with the Class 2A crown.  The Class 3A champ was Northern-Calvert while Pocomoke brought home the Class 1A title.

Our thanks go to everyone that helped to make this year's tournament a resounding success, including the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks for the use of Bachman Park as a semifinal site and the Athletic Department at the University of Maryland - College Park for the use of their softball facility to showcase our finals.  Many State Committee members and other volunteers unselfishly gave their valuable time during the season as well as the tournament to ensure a memorable event for the participants and we greatly appreciate it.  Enjoy your summer and we'll see you next year!
