It was a beautiful, sunny day for the 2022 field hockey state championships.  This version saw a new host site, Mustang Stadium on the campus of Stevenson University.  The venue served as a more centralized location for the event.

This day was one that had some first-timers.  Christina Giampalmo of Glenelg and Kasey Hickman of Pocomoke enjoyed their first state championships as new head coaches of repeat champions.  Crofton, a school that just opened in 2020, in the most hotly contested game of the day against River Hill, only needed their first final to bring home a trophy.

Broadneck, a school known to always field a competitive program, has not always seen success in the state tournament.  They came back on the scene this year, taking home another state championship, which had not been accomplished in 20 years when the 2002 team won the school's second championship.
