Participating Schools, Coaches and School Administrators
Schools participating in the 2009 MPSSAA Football state tournament should familiarize themselves with the MPSSAA Fall Bulletin Intro and Football Bulletin. The following information is designed to answer frequently asked questions regarding the state tournament.
Media
Members of the media covering the MPSSAA Football playoffs should familiarize themselves with the MPSSAA media page found on MPSSAA.org. Any member of the media wishing to broadcast or video/audio stream an MPSSAA regional or state football contest must complete the proper paperwork. Broadcasting companies should contact

Regional and State Tournament Schedule and Results
The MPSSAA will publish and update schedule and results for each week of the 2009 Football Playoffs on MPSSAA.org. Schedules throughout the week may change and any changes to the initial schedule will be made in red. Host sights for the regional semifinal, finals and state semifinals will be at the higher seed home field or a field determined by that local school system and confirm to criteria in the MPSSAA football bulletin. State finals will be played at M & T Bank Stadium.
Tickets
The MPSSAA will issue tickets to each host site. Only MPSSAA Complimentary passes shall be accepted at sites (please refer to the MPSSAA Fall Bulletin Intro and football section). Tickets for the regional semifinals and finals will cost $5.00 for admission, $6.00 at state semifinals and $8.00 at state finals.
Team Tournament Entry Form Due
Each school advancing past the regional semifinal round must complete the team tournament entry form. Team tournament entry form is due on Monday, November 16, 2009. The Team Tournament entry form is found on MPSSAA.org in the Coaches/Athletic Directors section. This section is password protected and each school has a username and password that has been passed out to the Athletic Directors. There is a directions section to fill out the form inside the coaches and athletic directors' page.
Please note that the way you enter your roster is the way it will show up in the playoff program so please follow the style in the directions. Only capitalize the first letter of players first and last names, list heights with a dash (6-2), list grades by number (9, 10, 11, 12), and spell out positions (quarterback, linebacker).
Team Photo Submission
Each school advancing past the regional semifinal round must submit a team photo. Team photos should be postmarked no later than Monday, November 16, 2009. Schools should refer to the Fall bulletin intro section for directions on submitting a team photo.
State Semifinal Teams Reseeded
A reminder that those schools advancing to the state semifinals, will be reseeded based on the final regular season points standings. The team coming out of each region with the highest regular season points average will be seeded one, followed by the second highest points average and so on.
MPSSAA Media Form
The
MPSSAA media form is found on the football page of mpssaa.org in the information center section. These are due to the MPSSAA office by Noon on Monday, November 23. This is time sensitive material.
MPSSAA Football Press Conference Luncheon
The MPSSAA will host its annual football press conference on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at M & T Bank Stadium. The head coach of each semifinal team is required to attend as important information will be provided regarding the football semifinals and finals. In addition, coaches will meet with members of the media.

Playoff Programs
Playoff programs for the 2009 Football State Tournament will be sold at state semifinal sites as well as the state finals at M & T Bank Stadium. Each semifinal host will be required to sell Playoff programs and return any unsold programs to the MPSSAA for sale at the state finals. Complimentary programs will also be provided to each participating school in the state semifinals.
State Finals at M & T Bank Stadium
The state finals at M & T Bank Stadium will take place on December 4 and 5. The Class 4A will play on December 4 at 7:30 p.m. Class 1A will play the first game on December 5 at 12 p.m., followed by the Class 2A state finals at 3:30 p.m. and the Class 3A at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the state finals are currently on sale at mpssaa.ticketleap.com. The MPSSAA encourages those attending the state finals to purchase and print their tickets ahead of time to avoid long lines at ticket windows and entrances. Schools should also direct students, fans and parents to the
MPSSAA Fan Focus for information regarding attending the state football finals.
Schools participating in the state finals will receive further information at the press luncheon on November 24 and in the last minute bulletin that will be distributed at that time.
