    MPSSAA Mourns The Untimely Passing Of Sam Singleton and Walt Hardy

    The MPSSAA is saddened by the sudden passing of Sam Singleton on 8/31 and Walt Hardy on 9/2. Our most heartfelt sympathies go out to the family, friends, students, and co-workers whose lives were touched by these two gentlemen. Both Sam and Walt brought a positive energy with them in whatever they did and they will be sorely missed.

    Partnership With eKnowledge Continues To Provide Donated SAT/ACT Prep Courses To MPSSAA Schools!!

    The MPSSAA's partnership with the eKnowledge Donation Project continues to provide donated SAT/ACT Prep Courses to our students! There is a new course for 2017-18 entitled "SAT/ACT PowerPrep Premium Pro with Math Super Supplement" which is the equivalent of a full semester course with a dedicated personal instructor. The cost of the $700 and the $350 course are paid by the sponsors and partnership. Students merely pay a fee of $39.99 or $19.99 respectively to cover the cost of materials.

    Nationwide Participation In High School Sports Nears The 8 Million Mark!!

    The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has just announced that the number of participants in high school sports increased for the 28th consecutive year in 2016‐17 – drawing close to the 8 million mark – according to the annual High School Athletics Participation Survey (see link inside of story). Maryland's participation numbers also experienced an increase last year to 112,414 student-athletes.
