On the first day of competition, the Smithsburg Boys' team took home their first ever State 1A Indoor Track & Field crown with 80.5 points to top both Boonsboro and Baltimore's Northwestern, who scored identical 55's to tie for the runner-up spot.  In Class 2A, Prince George's Douglass put up 56 points to also score their first ever State Indoor Track & Field title.  Walkersville totaled 43 points and took home the State Finalist trophy.

On day two of competition, the Dr. Henry A. Wise Boys' team scored 52 points to overcome runner-up Suitland's 39 point total in Class 4A.  It was Wise's inaugural State Indoor Track & Field Champion trophy.  In Class 3A Governor Thomas Johnson Boys' team won their third state indoor title with 46.5 points but had a pack of teams nipping at their heels.  Potomac was a close second with 43 points followed by Linganore with 42, Wilde Lake and Digital Harbor, both with 39.

There are many people that we need to thank for their sincere hard work, time, and effort throughout the season but especially during the region and state meets.  First and foremost, the State Indoor Track Committee along with each of the Region Meet Directors and the host of workers, volunteer and otherwise, deserve kudos for organizing all of these meets, verifying times, and making the meets run smoothly.  No one knows how easy you make a tough job look!  Secondly, we thank the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex and their most helpful staff in permitting us to host region and state meets at their fine facility.  We deeply appreciate all of the cooperation we receive and look forward to continuing to work together in the future to provide the best meet environment for our student-athletes. We can't wait for next year!
