High School Sports Participation Increases Again In Latest NFHS Survey!!

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has just announced that the number of participants in high school sports increased for the 26th consecutive year in 2014‐15 – topping the 7.8 million mark for the first time – according to the annual High School Athletics Participation Survey. Maryland's numbers also increased to over 118,000 participants placing 23rd in the nation. Read more for links to the complete survey and press release from NFHS.

The 2015 Student-Athlete Leadership Conference sponsored by the Allstate Foundation is ready to rock it out on Wednesday, 8/5 at North County HS in Anne Arundel County. New MPSSAA Executive Director Named!!

The Maryland State Board of Education has appointed Mr. Robert Andrew (Andy) Warner as the new Executive Director of the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA). Andy becomes the sixth person to lead the MPSSAA since its inception in 1946, succeeding the 34-year tenure of the retiring Ned Sparks.

2015 State Baseball Champions Prevail In Tense Duels!!

A great weekend of baseball came to a close last night at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen as three new champions were crowned and one champ successfully defended last year's title. Gaithersburg (4A) and Chopticon (3A) hoisted the championship trophy for the first time while Brunswick (1A) posted their fifth title and Southern-AA (2A) all repeated as state champ.
