The Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) has a new statewide FREE seminar for athletic directors, coaches, principals, and those that supervise them which is entitled “Sports Have Rules: Learn the Laws that Rule Sports”. The seminar is being offered on May 18th and will be held at the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Board Room from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Read more for registration information.

On Saturday, March 14th prior to the 8 PM Boys' 4A State Basketball Championship game, both Meade HS and Bethesda-Chevy Chase HS had packed the stands at the University of Maryland-College Park's Xfinity Center. The State Basketball Finals came to a successful conclusion on Saturday, 3/14 as Meade, Oakland Mills, Centennial, and New Town hauled down Boys titles at the Xfinity Center. On the Girls side, Eleanor Roosevelt, Milford Mill, Patterson Mill, and Forestville raised the champions trophy at SECU Arena. State Swimming & Diving Champions Rise To The Top!!

The Class 4A/3A State Swimming meet was finally held on 3/11 and when the waves in the pool subsided, the Walter Johnson boys and Winston Churchill girls came away with the team crowns. Walter Johnson's boys posted their third state title by topping Richard Montgomery 272 - 238. Winston Churchill's girls earned their first state title by scoring 288.5 points to Sherwood's 249.
