2015 State Cross Country Champions Finish Strong!!

The 2015 State Cross Country Championships have raced to a successful close today at breezy Hereford HS as a new girls State and Class 4A record was set by Maria Coffin of Annapolis. Her time of 18:25.3 broke the old record by 0.9 seconds. Complete race results for each classification and gender are available in the links inside.

MPSSAA Mourns The Passing Of Roy Comer

The MPSSAA is saddened by the news of the passing of Roy Comer on 11/4. Roy served as the Supervisor of Physical Education and Athletics in the Frederick County Public Schools from 1967-1990. Not only did Roy serve this association as President and Treasurer, he was instrumental in the formation of the first state high school football tournament in Maryland and served fourteen years as our State Football Committee Director.

Churchill Obliterates Record For Team Score At 2015 State Golf Championships!!

At the end of tournament play on Monday, 11/2 when the final strokes were all added up and one playoff completed, Winston Churchill HS set a new state record for team score with a 572, 24 strokes better than the old record which they also held! The MPSSAA is extremely pleased to announce the selection of Liz Brush as the new State Rules Interpreter for Girls Lacrosse. Liz is a dedicated Women's Lacrosse official with over 15 years of service at all levels of the sport which includes international as well as national officiating experience.

The MPSSAA has released the position announcement for a new Assistant Director in our office. This vacancy came about as a result of the retirement of former Executive Director Ned Sparks and the subsequent hiring of former Assistant Director Andy Warner to take Ned's place. US Lacrosse has released the 2016 rule changes for Girls Lacrosse to go along with the previously released NFHS Baseball, Boys Lacrosse, Softball, and Track and Field rule changes.
