Kudos to the members of the MPSSAA State Wrestling Committee for the vision and energy behind the first MPSSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational Tournament which took place on Saturday, 2/3 at Northeast HS in Anne Arundel County! The goal of the invitational was to further increase the interest and participation of females in the sport of wrestling which is showing rapid growth around the country. This initial event was deemed a success as almost eighty female wrestlers spent the day participating in a highly informative clinic and bouts where the girls were matched up into 16 weight classes with four to five wrestlers each.
