State Track Meets Crown Worthy Champions

The State Track & Field Championships came to a successful conclusion at Hughes Stadium on the campus of Morgan State University after three days of intense competition.  Click on the links inside of the story for results by event, classification, and/or gender.

In Class 1A, Williamsport was the girls' state champion while Smithsburg and Williamsport shared the boys' title. The girls' champion in Class 2A turned out to be North Point while on the boys' side Clarksburg prevailed as champions.  The Western (B.City) girls were the Class 3A champions while Westlake was the boys' 3A champions.  Eleanor Roosevelt won the girls' Class 4A title and Thomas Johnson brought home the gold in the 4A boys'.

Our sincere thanks goes to the staff at Morgan State University for sharing their great track and field facilities with us and to the multitude of workers and officials that made this event "happen".  The guidance, direction, and expertise of the State Track and Field Committee along with great help and a great venue truly created a recipe for success. Keep training and we'll see you again next year bigger, faster, and stronger!
