State Titlists Too Hot To Handle

     A hot and sultry State Finals wrapped up on Wednesday, 5/22 at UMBC Stadium in Catonsville.  Three familiar teams climbed atop the champions podium once again while a couple others will have to wait a little longer to attain that elusive first crown.  Click on the links above to access the brackets and results for each classification.      Winters Mill edged Easton for the Class 2A/1A title, their fourth state crown, on Tuesday, 5/21 by a score of 8-7.  In the Class 3A/2A tilt later on Tuesday, Marriotts Ridge pulled down their second state title by outscoring Century, 15-5.  Broadneck bested Sherwood in the 4A/3A Final by a score of 21-5 for their third state crown.

     Congratulations to all of our participants, coaches, officials, and spectators for another memorable season.  Our thanks go to the athletic department and support staff at UMBC for their hospitality and cooperation as our tournament finals site.  In addition, we 'd like to thank Annapolis HS, Bel Air HS, and Franklin HS, their athletic departments and staffs for doing an exceptional job hosting all of the state semifinals.  Last but not least, a hearty thank you to the members of Girls' Lacrosse State Tournament Committee led by director Melba Williams for their invaluable time and effort all season long.  We hope to see everyone back at UMBC next year for more of the "fastest game on two feet".
