The Indoor Track and Field State Championships came to a thrilling conclusion at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover as four teams successfully defended their 2019 titles, two teams hoisted the championship trophy for the first time, and one school swept the boys and girls crowns in their classification.  In addition, two titles were won by a point or less and one girls classification had only 2.75 points separating the top three teams!  Select the desired links below to view the complete State meet and region meet results.

On President's Day, 2/17 the Largo Boys and Girls teams swept the Class 1A State titles, the third crowns for each.  The Class 2A Oakdale Boys scored 84 points to top Milford Mill Academy (62.5) while the Class 2A South Carroll Girls tallied 46 points to nip Harford Technical (45.5) and Seneca Valley (43.25) by the narrowest of margins in claiming their first ever state title.

On Tuesday, 2/18 the Class 4A Paint Branch Boys successfully defended last year's title with 53 points to edge Richard Montgomery by a single point for their third overall state crown.  The Urbana  Girls also repeated as state champs for their second overall title by outscoring Charles H. Flowers, 77 points to 32.  Huntingtown raised their first championship trophy as they bested North Point in Class 3A, 55 points to 47.  The Hereford Girls brought home the Class 3A championship trophy for the second year in a row and sixth time overall as they downed Northern-Calvert, 54 points to 49.5.

Many thanks to all of the region meet directors and region meet sites for conducting and hosting these preliminary events.  We would also like to thank the staff at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex for their support and cooperation in hosting our State Meets at their one-of-a-kind facility.  We also owe a debt of gratitude to the State Indoor Track Committee led by Director Clayton Culp, especially Site Director Beth Shook and Meet Entry Coordinator Gerard Filosa.  More shining examples of the outstanding personnel we have working behind the scenes to provide the best opportunities possible for the student-athletes in our public schools!
