State Champs Climb Tough Road To Top

Four title games were played and four tough victories were claimed by the newly crowned state boys basketball champions.  Baltimore City won two classification titles with Dunbar winning the Class 1A Championship and City College winning the Class 2A Championship.  Baltimore County's Milford Mill Academy took home the Class 3A State trophy while Springbrook of Montgomery County won the Class 4A title.

Dunbar posted an impressive 12th state title while Springbrook hoisted the championship banner for an equally impressive 3rd straight time and fifth overall. Milford Mill's crown was their first in sixteen years and 4th overall state title.  City College went the back-to-back route in defending last year's state championship for their second consecutive and second overall.

The MPSSAA is extremely appreciative of the cooperation that we received from school systems, administrators, coaches, officials, players, and fans in order to complete ALL of the region tournament games on schedule.  We would also like to recognize the extraordinary time and effort put in by the Boys State Basketball Tournament Committee as well as the legion of dedicated tournament workers without whom this tournament would not have been possible.  Our thanks also go to the University of Maryland's Athletic Department for making the Comcast Center available to us and for their cooperation and assistance with making the Boys State Basketball Tournament so special.
