The field hockey season may have come to a cold, blustery close at Washington College on Saturday, but the energy and spirit on the field and in the stands was hot with excitement and enthusiasm!  C. Milton Wright started the day by winning the Class 3A title, their second, followed by Class 4A champ South River, who hoisted the state championship trophy for the third time in a row and their seventh overall.  Carroll County dominated the last two matches as the Class 1A crown was won by South Carroll, their fifth and the Class 2A title went to Liberty, their fourth.  Congratulations also go to Kent Island HS for winning the tournament sportsmanship award.  Way to go!  Select from the links below to view a summary of the State Semifinal and Final results along with the complete brackets for each classification.

The MPSSAA extends congratulations to all of the schools that participated in this year's tournament and we appreciate your cooperation and support throughout as we battled the weather elements the entire season.  We would like to acknowledge our State Semifinal host sites, Broadneck and Paint Branch High Schools and their athletic department staffs, for another top notch job.  Our sincerest gratitude to the State Field Hockey Committee, especially Director Phyllis Hemmes, and all of the region tournament directors for another outstanding job of planning leading up to this culminating event. Once again, we cannot thank Washington College enough for their hospitality, cooperation, and support in working with us to provide first class facilities for our field hockey championships.  And last but not least, thank you fans for your support. Hope to see you again next fall!
