2019 Minds In Motion Scholarship Luncheon Honors Fourteen Exceptional Student-Athletes!!

     The MPSSAA was proud to honor the fourteen winners of the 2019 Minds in Motion Scholar-Athlete Scholarships at a luncheon held in the Ravens Locker Room at M&T Bank Stadium today.  Guest speaker Omari Pearson of "Passion to Purpose" highlighted the event as he provided insight and motivation to the soon-to-be-college-students to write their new goals down on paper, make their weaknesses their strengths, and to follow the acronym DREAM!

     "The Allstate Foundation is proud to support these next generation leaders and history-makers from Maryland," said Shaundra Turner Jones, Allstate Senior Corporate Relations Manager.   "These amazing young students have shown outstanding initiative both in and outside of the classroom.  It is an honor to assist them in their future endeavors and watch them achieve their full potential."

     This twelfth annual program has been sponsored by The Allstate Foundation since its' inception in 2008 and a total of $134,000 in scholarship funds have been contributed toward empowering and supporting the education of tomorrow's future leaders.  The scholarship recognizes those who have excelled on the playing field and in the classroom.  Applicants must be seniors with a minimum 3.25 unweighted overall GPA and have participated in interscholastic athletic activities sponsored by MPSSAA during their high school careers.

     "We congratulate all of these outstanding student-athletes for the hard work and perseverance it took to earn this scholarship," said Andy Warner, MPSSAA Executive Director.  "I too, am a product of the Maryland public schools and played three sports.  I learned and developed different skills that I can look back on today as very beneficial to me in my current job now.  Without a doubt, these students are better prepared for the future and we wish them all the best."

     Students with an immediate family member (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, ward, daughter or son and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) employed by The Allstate Foundation ("Sponsor"), Allstate Insurance Company, any Allstate Insurance agency and persons living in their same households, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win this scholarship.  An eligible minor must have his/her parent's or legal guardian's permission to enter.  Void where prohibited by law.  Program is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
