The State Wrestling Tournament came to an impressive conclusion with 28 State Champions being awarded their medals on the top step of the podium, eight of whom were repeat winners.  Highlighting the field of repeat champs was North Hagerstown's Aaron Brooks who joined the elite group of four-time winners with his gold medal in the 182-lb. weight class.  Centennial's Jason Kraisser became a three-time champ with his gold at 145-lbs. to go along with two-time champs Zach Bryant from Catoctin (113 lbs.), Earl Blake from Linganore (126 lbs.), Ryan Lawrence from Damascus (145 lbs.), Tyler Bauer from North Caroline (160 lbs.), Jake Nielson from Urbana (160 lbs.), and Dunbar's Jorden Pryor (285 lbs.).  Select the links below to view a summary of all of the State Champions and the complete State Tournament brackets for each of the two classifications.

We are most appreciative of The Show Place Arena management and staff for hosting our event and working with us when the weather did not cooperate.  We are even more appreciative of the extra time and effort above and beyond the call of duty put in by our State Wrestling Committee, led by Director Brian Layman and State Tournament Director Michael Duffy.  Many of these individuals also ran or assisted with the region tournament qualifiers leading up to the State Tournament.  Thanks also go to all of our region tournament host sites and their staff members for going the extra mile for our student-athletes!  On a different note, we regret to inform everyone that the NFHS Network was unable to schedule a crew to stream or record Monday's "make-up" date for the final rounds, therefore there is no on-demand video or DVD purchase available.
