2016 State Baseball Champs Win With Total Team Effort!!

The State Baseball Championships have closed out the 2015-16 school year in fine fashion with highly skilled games demonstrating that total team efforts win ball games. Bel Air (4A) and Brunswick (1A) both successfully defended last year's titles while La Plata (2A) won for the second time and Huntingtown (3A) won their first ever. The 2016 State Track and Field champions dealt with stiff competition and stiffling heat over three days at Morgan State University. Prevailing over the competition and the elements were Boonsboro (1A), Lackey (2A), Urbana (3A), and Charles H. Flowers (4A) on the girls side. On the boys side of the ledger, Fairmont Heights (1A), Westlake (2A), Oxon Hill (3A), and Northwest (4A) took home top prize. Read more for links to complete results by classification.

The State Softball Finals at the University of Maryland Softball Stadium came to a steamy conclusion as teams put on a hitting display with lots of runs scored and action on the base paths. Two first time state titles were won by Perryville (1A) and La Plata (2A), while Westminster (3A) won their 3rd crown, and Sherwood (4A) successfully defended their title for the 5th year in a row! The latest issue of SCOUT magazine is out with all sorts of important news, reminders, and information regarding the upcoming post-season for spring sports. We want to highlight two big changes which have taken place with the State Baseball and State Tennis Championships. In addition, the entry and penalty deadlines for the region track and field meet schedule have been corrected and re-posted on our website.

Wilson Will Continue As The Official Baseball Of The MPSSAA For 2017-21!!

Wilson Sporting Goods has been selected by the MPSSAA Executive Council as the official baseball again for the next five-year contract period beginning with the 2017 season and lasting through the 2021 season. The Wilson A1010BPROSST baseball will continue to be required for region and state tournament play and highly recommended for play throughout the regular season.
