MPSSAA Classification Committee Recommends Sport-Specific Classifications to Board of Control

The MPSSAA Classification Committee met in early November and voted to put forth recommended sport specific region alignments for the 2023-25 academic years.  The recommendations, in accordance with the classification regulations found on page 27 of the MPSSAA Handbook, will be presented to the MPSSAA Board of Control for final approval.  Select the desired link below to view the sport specific school enrollment numbers as submitted by local school systems, and the region and section alignment proposals made by the Classification Committee.

Please be advised the classification committee's recommendation has been updated based on a wrong enrollment number for Forest Park HS and Pocomoke HS sponsoring cross country.

The Classification Committee is comprised of a representative from each of the nine districts and a school principal representative.  For the purpose of competition parity in events coordinated by the MPSSAA, member schools are divided as equally as possible into  classifications based on enrollment.  Enrollment numbers are submitted to the MPSSAA Executive Director by November 1st by each local school system Superintendent and include the actual enrollment of grades 9, 10, 11 in each of the MPSSAA member schools as of September 30th.
