Two words describe the 2019 State Indoor Track and Field Champions as the final meets of the year came to an exciting conclusion at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover last night...grit and determination.  Team titles did not come easily for most as a few points in this event and a point or two in that event yielded big results when the final scores were tabulated.  Select the links below for complete results of every event as well as a team results summary.

The Girls Class 1A title went to Frederick Douglass-PG, their third, while the Boonsboro Boys also took home a third 1A Championship trophy, all of which have been consecutive.  Hereford's Girls won their fifth crown in Class 2A and the Oakdale Boys won their second state title.  In Class 3A, the Linganore Boys successfully defended last year's title as they earned their third overall state championship while the Northern-Calvert Girls hoisted the champion trophy for the second time.  The Urbana Girls were a first time champion in Class 4A while on the Boys side, Paint Branch won their second state crown.

The MPSSAA extends congratulations to all of the schools, coaches, student-athletes, and officials that participated in this year's State Meets.  We would like to acknowledge our Region Meet host sites, region meet directors, and officials' coordinators for their extra effort and cooperation in completing twelve meets in such efficient fashion.  Our sincerest gratitude to the State Track and Field Committee, especially Indoor Track Committee Director Clayton Culp, Site Director Beth Shook, and Meet Entry Coordinator Gerard Filosa for a truly outstanding job of preparation and planning leading up to this culminating event.  Once again, we cannot thank the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex, Facility Manager Cynthia Kelly, and her top-notch staff enough for their hospitality, cooperation, and support in working with us to provide first class facilities for our Indoor Track and Field Championships.  And last but not least, thank you fans for your support. Hope to see you on the inside track again next winter!
