Another State Golf Tournament has come to scintillating finish as the team from Marriotts Ridge posted their 6th overall and consecutive state title in Class 2A/1A while the Class 4A/3A Walt Whitman team secured their 7th state title but first in the past ten years.  Select the links below to view the final individual and team results along with group photos.

Sherwood's Brad Riley won the Boys Class 4A/3A Individual title with a tournament best 74/71 for a total of 145 and a two-stroke cushion while David Stephens from Marriotts Ridge won the Boys Class 2A/1A Individual title with a 75/78 for a one-stroke win over three competitors at 153.  North Point's Bailey Davis topped all females and finished with a 146 (71/75) to take first place in the Class 4A/3A Girls Individual competition by three strokes.  Marriotts Ridge also claimed the Girls 2A/1A Individual champ as Faith McIlvain shot 71/76 for an eleven stroke win with her 147.

Congratulations to all of the participants in this year's tournament and to all of the coaches for another successful season.  We are extremely appreciative of the staff at the University of Maryland's Golf Course and especially Head Pro Jeff Maynor, for their superb hospitality and assistance in making this year's tournament a success.  Another important cog in making the tournament successful is the time and effort put in behind the scenes by the State Golf Committee and Committee Director Eric Michaels.  We tip our cap to each of you and thank each of you for your contributions.  Until next fall, may all your drives be long and straight and your putts in the bottom of the cup!
