The Walt Whitman girls won their second state title and first since 1995 in Class 4A.  Similarly, the Glenelg girls won their 3rd state crown but the first since 1991 in Class 3A.  In Class 2A, the Largo girls won their 3rd state final while Forestville girls successfully defended their Class 1A title for their 2nd overall.  In the boys Class 4A, Eleanor Roosevelt cruised to a 3rd state championship while the C.      The MPSSAA extends congratulations to all of the schools that participated in this year's tournament and we appreciate your cooperation and support throughout.  Our sincerest gratitude to our State Basketball Committees led by Earl Hawkins and Lynette Mitzel as well as Tournament Directors Jeff Sullivan and Diane George for another outstanding job of planning these big events.   Our thanks also to the "team" of workers at each tournament site that helped to execute that plan.  Once again, we cannot thank the University of Maryland College Park and Towson University enough for their hospitality, cooperation, and support in working with us to provide first class facilities for our championships such as the Xfinity Center and SECU Arena.  We look forward to seeing everyone back on the hardwood next year!
