Taking Home The Gold

The State Championship Track and Field meets have come to a nail-biting conclusion. Select the links above to view the final results for each classification or the region meet results. (updated 5/28/11, 10:50 p.m.)

The Class 1A Boys' title went to Carver Vo-Tech as they easily outdistanced Catoctin 108-74.  Walkersville had a tougher go of it as they edged by Century for the Class 2A championship, 54-50. The Class 3A trophy went to Linganore by virtue of their 3 point victory over Potomac, 72-69. Last and certainly not least, Thomas Johnson continued their Class 4A dominance by a score of 102 -66 over DuVal.

The MPSSAA appreciates the hard work and flexibility of our schools and athletic departments in not only hosting the 16 region meets but also completing the region meets on time so the the seeding meeting and State Meets could go off as scheduled.  It also goes without saying how indebted we are to the athletic department at Morgan State University and their staff, especially Larry Frazier, for the use of Earl Banks Stadium to hold our event.  The level of cooperation that we receive is unparalleled year after year and we look forward to returning again next year.  See you there in 2012!
