Title play began on Tuesday with Class 2A/1A as Fallston hoisted the champions trophy for the third year in a row and for the fourth time overall by virtue of their defeat of North Carroll, 17-7.  Class 4A/3A wrapped up the evening with a huge crowd on hand to watch Howard fall short in their first state championship bid to South River, 9-6. This was South River's third state crown.  Play for the boys side concluded on Wednesday with Class 3A/2A Kent Island took down Hereford, 8-6 for their first ever state title and North East-Cecil HS was awarded the tournament Sportsmanship Award.  Don't forget that you can relive every exciting play with unlimited free viewing on-demand and DVD purchases within days of the original contest on the MPSSAA Network.

Congratulations to all of our participants, coaches, officials, and spectators for another memorable season.  Our thanks go to the athletic department and support staff at UMBC for their hospitality and cooperation as our tournament finals site.  In addition, we'd like to thank Northeast-AA HS, Annapolis HS, and Bel Air HS, their athletic departments and staffs for doing an exceptional job hosting all of the state semifinals.  Last but not least, a hearty thank you to the members of Boys' Lacrosse State Tournament Committee, especially Director Ken Zorbach, for their invaluable time and effort all season long.  We hope to see everyone back at UMBC next year for more of the "fastest game on two feet".
