State Field Hockey Tournament Set To Begin With Section Quarterfinals On Tuesday, 10/25!!

     The State Field Hockey region tournament has been seeded and the pairings set for the Section Quarterfinals to begin on Tuesday, 10/25.  All games are played at the site of the higher seeded team.  Links to the brackets for each classification are now available below.  Game dates, times, sites, and results will be posted throughout the tournament as they become available courtesy of our friends at County Sports Zone (CSZ)!

     In the event of inclement weather, the rain date for the Section Quarterfinals will be the next day, Wednesday, 10/26.  Teams winning their Section Quarterfinal contests will move on to the Section Semifinals on Thursday, 10/27 (rain date 10/28). Remaining rounds of the region tournament are scheduled as follows:  Section Finals on Monday, 10/31 (rain date is 11/1) and Region Finals on Wednesday, 11/2 (rain date is 11/3).  Schools that win their Section Final game are required to submit their online team entries by 4 PM on Tuesday, 11/1!!

     The sixteen region champions will move on to compete in the State Semifinals on Monday, 11/7 and Wednesday, 11/9.  Two games will be played each night at each site at 5 PM and 7 PM.  On Monday, 11/7 Broadneck HS in Anne Arundel County will host Class 1A while Paint Branch HS in Montgomery County hosts Class 2A.  On Wednesday, 11/9 Class 3A goes to Broadneck HS and Class 4A goes to Paint Branch.  Any games postponed on Monday and Wednesday will be rescheduled for Tuesday, 11/10 and Thursday, 11/12 respectively.

     Awaiting the eight victors of the state semifinal games is a trip to Chestertown's Washington College and the State Finals on Saturday, 11/12.  Class 1A jump starts the day with an 11 AM tilt, followed by Class 2A at 1:30 PM, Class 3A at 4 PM, and wraps up with Class 4A at 6:30 PM.  Tickets may be purchased in advance with ease by going online in the comfort of your home and paying with a credit card.   We also recommend reviewing the Field Hockey "Fan Focus" for directions and additional information that may help make your visit to the State Championships more enjoyable.  Hope to see you there!
