NOTE: Schools interested in competing in “outside” events should advise the sponsoring institution or agency to make application for MPSSAA sanction. Each such request for sanction will be evaluated in the light of established Association policies. Factors such as distance to be traveled, time lost from school, effect on school program if the athletic event is scheduled on a night preceding a school day, number of games per day, commercial exploitation of competing teams, and similar items will be considered in the evaluation of each contest, meet, or tournament for which sanction is requested. Sanction will not be given to contests, meets, or tournaments (1) which conflict with MPSSAA-sponsored events; (2) which are sponsored or conducted by other than education institutions or agencies; (3) in which awards offered to winner or participants do not meet with Association standards; (4) which are scheduled for early season and are obviously not culminating activities.
