Johns Hopkins Medicine, in partnership with the MPSSAA, will be holding a heart screening event for high school athletes. On May 24 at the Track and Field State Meel held at Morgan State University, up to 1,000 high school athletes will have the opportunity to be screened for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The intent of this screening is to evaluate a large group of athletes and to provide heart health education to athletes and to increase community awareness about sudden cardiac death.

The following links provide thorough information about sudden death in the young and the heart hype program, a consent form and a questionnaire. The consent form and questionnaire must be filled out prior to the screening. Please print and take to the Track and Field State Meet if you are interested in participating.
