Coaches' Leadership Conference

     The MPSSAA is pleased to announce the 2nd annual MPSSAA Coaches' Leadership Conference for fall and winter sports' coaching staffs.  The Coaches' Leadership Conference is designed to develop coaches’ leadership skills that enhance the values of education-based athletics, promote positive relationships with parents and student-athletes, maintain appropriate communication with officials, sportsmanship, inclusion, time management, and developing effective media relations and social media policies/guidelines.  The positive values of education-based athletics have been well documented through research as benefits of participation in interscholastic athletics.  The structure of the conference provides coach interaction through dynamic guest speakers, sport-specific sessions/clinics led by college coaches, and interactive seminar workshops.  Coaches will learn an array of techniques to enhance their leadership and teaching skills for their student-athletes.  

     The conference is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2017 at North Point High School in Charles County. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by the first opening session at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until 4:00 p.m.  The conference is open to only those adults 21 years of age or older who coach fall and/or winter interscholastic athletic sports at MPSSAA member schools.  The MPSSAA is hopeful the conference will be administered with a full compliment of coaches from our entire membership.  Coaches can register now at by filling out the online registration information and clicking submit.  Registration will be closed after we receive 350 applicants.  Any questions about participating in the Coaches’ Leadership Conference should be directed to MPSSAA Assistant Director Jason Bursick at 410-767-0415 or
